Lights in The Night Sky

Released July 3rd 2026

“Lights in the Night Sky” is a gentle, atmospheric acoustic song for children Built around fingerstyle acoustic guitar and warm vocals. Inspired by Matariki, the Māori New Year, and the Matariki stars in New Zealand’s winter sky.

I wrote it about night time because as a child I was quite afraid of he dark and I wanted to make something comforting that showed that there isn’t anything to be afraid of.

Lyrics:

The lights in the night sky are shining on me
The moon stars and planets are right where they should be
Shine until the morning when the sun will rise
The lights in the night sky dance before my eyes

We’ve all been heaven sent
We’re star dust in disguise
So there is no accident
So we’re the same now you and I

The lights in the night sky are shining on me
The moon stars and planets are right where they should be
Shine until the morning when the sun will rise
The lights in the night sky dance before my eyes

There will always be a night
When darkness fills our eyes
And there’ll always be a light
To shine down from the skies

You have nothing to fear
The stars are watching on
And they always reappear
In the time before the dawn

The lights in the night sky are shining on me
The moon stars and planets are right where they should be
Shine until the morning when the sun will rise
The lights in the night sky dance before my eyes
The lights in the night sky dance before my eyes
