I wrote this song after I heard someone say, “Christmas is just for kids.” But I don’t think you ever grow out of Christmas, because you don’t grow out of things like love, peace, and hope. Christmas time is for people of all ages, not just for kids.
So I wrote a Christmas song with a nostalgic feel—something that captures how special the season can be. Despite the challenges life throws at us in these modern times, you’re never too old for things like love, peace, hope, and all of that stuff.
Lyrics
It’s Christmas time again
And I won’t pretend
It’s been a long year
You’ve kept the wolf back from the door
And here we are once more
At years end
I heard somebody say
That Christmas is just for kids these days
But you’re not too old for Christmas
And your not too old for love
And you’re not too old for peace And all of that stuff
And it’s not too late for hope
And it’s not too late for trust
And it’s not too late for dreaming For all of us
The decorations still remind
Of the child that lives inside
In the back of your mind
And the songs they might be old
But the story is still told
About a simpler time
I heard somebody say
We’d all be better off if kids just ran this place
No you’re not too old for Christmas
If your not too old for love
and you’re not too old trying to rise above
And it’s not too late for hope
And it’s not too late for trust
And it’s not too late for believing In all of that stuff
I heard somebody say
That hope is alive and well these days
No you’re not too old for Christmas
And your not too old for love
And you’re not too old for peace and all of that stuff
And it’s not too late for hope
And it’s not too late for trust
And it’s not too late for Dreaming for all of us
For all of us
For all of us
